Đề thi môn Tiếng Anh (40 câu trắc nghiệm)
Read the following passage about family meals and mark the letter A, B, C or D to indicate the best answer to each of the following questions from 18 to 25.
In many homes today, family members rarely sit down to eat together. Parents work long hours, children have extra classes in the evening, and when everyone finally gets home, each person often eats in front of a different screen. Yet experts say that the simple habit of sharing a meal can make a big difference to family life.
First of all, family meals give people a chance to talk. Over dinner, children can tell their parents about their day, and parents can notice early if something is wrong. Studies have found that teenagers who often eat with their families tend to do better at school. They are also less likely to develop unhealthy habits.
Family meals are also good for health. Food cooked at home usually contains less salt, sugar and fat than fast food. When children help to prepare meals, they learn useful cooking skills and become more willing to try new vegetables.
Of course, it is not always possible for everyone to be at home at the same time. Experts suggest that families start small, for example by eating together two or three times a week, or by sharing breakfast at the weekend instead of dinner. The most important thing is not what is on the table but the time spent together. Turning off the television and putting phones away during the meal helps everyone pay attention to one another.
In a busy world, a shared meal may seem like a small thing. However, for many families, it is the one time of day when everyone can slow down and simply enjoy each other's company.

Read the following passage about sea turtles and mark the letter A, B, C or D to indicate the best answer to each of the following questions from 31 to 40.
Sea turtles have lived in the world's oceans for more than 100 million years, surviving changes that wiped out many other species. Today, however, most of the seven species of sea turtle are listed as threatened, and human activity is the main reason.
Female sea turtles usually return to the same area where they themselves hatched in order to lay their eggs. [I] A female digs a hole in the sand at night, lays around a hundred eggs, covers them and then returns to the sea. [II] About two months later, the baby turtles hatch and head for the water. [III] Even after they reach the waves, hungry fish are waiting for them. [IV] As a result, experts estimate that only about one in a thousand hatchlings survives to become an adult.
Humans have made this difficult start even harder. Newly hatched turtles find the sea by moving towards the brightest horizon, which on a natural beach is the moonlight reflected on the water. Bright lights from hotels and roads can confuse them, leading them inland, where they may die from heat or be run over by vehicles. In the ocean, adult turtles face other threats. Many get caught in fishing nets, and some swallow plastic bags, which look very similar to jellyfish, one of their favourite foods.
Climate change adds another, less obvious, danger. The temperature of the sand decides whether the eggs become male or female turtles: warmer nests produce mostly females. As beaches become hotter, some populations now have far more females than males, which could make it harder for them to reproduce in the future.
Fortunately, there is still hope. In many coastal areas, volunteers patrol beaches at night to protect nests, and some eggs are moved to safe hatcheries until the babies are ready to go to the sea. Hotels near nesting beaches are being asked to switch off or cover their lights during the nesting season. These efforts show that when local people, tourists and businesses work together, even ancient creatures facing modern problems can be given a better chance of survival.
